We are sad to say goodbye after 10 years. Click here to read a letter from Farmer Dave.
Educational Tours for Elementary Students in The Hampton Roads Region
Bring your school group to Green Hand Farm Park and let them get "in touch" with their food with a combination of education and fun! We'll provide a day of hands-on experiences as they explore our farm, play, and learn about the importance of agriculture.
There are tons of activities for kids at the Farm Park. Our attractions include a 8-acre Giant Corn Maze, hayrides, and more. For a complete list of attractions, visit our Attractions page.
Teachers, we are also available to work with you to develop related curriculum for your students to apply during their visit or back in the classroom. Please contact us and we will help you in any way we can. The tour is recommended for students in kindergarten through 5th grade, but pre-school children are more than welcome to visit with the same curriculum.
What's Included in Your Field Trip
Check out the fun and educational activities below that are included with every Educational Tour. Sandwiches, snacks, and drinks at our Concession Stand are not included but are available for purchase.

The Importance of BeesThe Bee Hive will be explained to the students & how important bees are to farmers.
How Corn GrowsLearn how corn grows from seed to harvest!
Mini-Corn MazeStudents will also be allowed to play in the Mini Corn Maze. At approximately 1 acre, this maze is great for younger explorers.
Straw Bale Maze and MountainStudents will also be allowed to play in the Straw Maze. Mostly maze but part obstacle course, these bales make a place for climbing, crawling and jumping!
For a comfortable and safe experience, we advise -
- Make sure every child has a signed parental permission form (required)
- Wear long pants, the corn can get scratchy
- Wear closed-toe shoes or sneakers
- Bring an extra sweater or jacket, then weather can change quickly
